In 1993, Beth Chappell founded Customer Insights with the goal of helping technology companies beat the competition by making decisions based on an understanding of their customers. Customer Insights accomplishes this goal using internal expertise in conjunction with strategic partners who specialize in particular research methods. This provides clients access to the best research and analysis for each unique situation.

In addition to consulting, Beth worked in product development and marketing for several Fortune 100 companies. Her worldwide experience covers the consumer, business and education markets. As she managed multi-million dollar research budgets, Beth ensured the insights were used to make key decisions in the company. At Apple, Beth led the Worldwide Customer Research team and became a key advisor on customer issues related to product development. She gave numerous speeches and taught classes on how to integrate customer needs into the product development process. As Senior Director of Insights at Yahoo!, Beth led research teams for several business units, driving a new approach to incorporate customer research into product development and marketing decisions.

Beth continuously strives to develop innovative research techniques to meet the demands of new and changing industries. Most recently as Sustainability and Social Innovation Research Lead at HP, she created a unique research tool to capture customer input using an engaging and elegant interface, winning HP innovation awards. At Apple, Beth developed the first computer-based survey program for the Macintosh.

Beth's degrees in Sociology and Anthropology (University of California, San Diego) provide a rigorous academic approach to supplement her natural curiosity about people and cultures stemming from her international upbringing.
